Abstract

Measured single-GPU inference for one 8B dense transformer at Q8_0 across three commodity edge accelerators — AMD "Strix Halo", NVIDIA GB10 "Grace Blackwell", and Apple M4 Max — comparing the Hanzo engine to llama.cpp on identical model and metric. Two findings: decode parity on all three backends, and the fastest box flips by workload (NVIDIA wins prefill, Apple wins decode ~2.5×). Includes a full reproducibility appendix with exact hardware, commands, and git SHA.
